The price is my favorite thing about my purchase! I bought it for $27.99 with free shipping. I later saw the same one at Best Buy for $60.00!! This software was really a super buy. It doesn't slow my computer or take up much space. I have it do a weekly run that takes only a few minutes. It give me a green chech mark next to websites in search engines (and a red "x") to advise me which sites are best to go on. I can check the security to each website manually to check various spyware/phising/trackers/viruses I can contract from the site. And there's also parental control of course. Great product, I am super satisfied!

This was a waste of money. I couldn't get it to download correctly on any of my computers. I have EP/vista. No help from McAfee so I ordered CA Security Suite and had great results. I will not use McAfee again!

I've used several different anti-virus softwares, and all of them slow down the computer. It is the price you pay to keep your computer safe from online threats - but Norton and McAfee seem to be some of the worst. Now that you have to worry about spam and malware, worms, and lord knows what else, more and more is slowing it down.
If the settings are correct - you have your email, online, and updates all set to yes and automatic, and the scans are regular, the software works. But it will slow you down. This is for an up-to-date computer. What is nice is that it sets up the disk cleaner and defrag automatically - something computer illiterates don't even know to do to help clean up memory.
Personally - I went back to a different product that isn't as much of a memory hog, and doesn't slow down my laptop as much. But I think something to take into consideration when installing the program is that your computer will lock up and fight back against anti-virus software when it is infected, something I'm not sure some of the other reviewers remembered.

...it makes it a little hard to review this. In addition, it is antivirus software. Most of the time, when you get malware, you don't even notice it until something goes REALLY wrong, and, by then, usually something has killed your malware protection.
So, in the absence of other information, I will describe the install, updating, and options.
Install:
Easy, fast (faster than the TrendMicro that I have also installed recently, and a bit easier as well), and straightforward. It seems that software companies have finally realized that people are secretly afraid of their computers.
Updates:
These are also generally good, and they seem to download a bit faster and cleaner than TrendMicro.
Options:
This is where I really liked this software. Most malware software has pretty much the same suite of options...anti-spyware, email protection, antivirus, identity security, blah blah blah. Generally, if you use your brain, most of these will never be anything that you need. What is nice, though, is that this product bundles in a cache-cookie-garbage cleaner and your native defragmentation options (which most advanced users will regularly initiate, but the staggering majority of computer users don't even know about) into the suite, making the process simpler for novices in the computer realm.
Overall, it is quite a solid product, and its features (and provenance) suggest that this should probably be the go-to product for computer users without much experience.
